Punch Bowl Park
A leafy spacious park, spread across 10 acres and with a licence for 100 plots (but only 58 are used). Punch Bowl Park divides naturally into three sections, all with individual approach roads. Over five decades, the park has been extensively re-developed by three generations of the Turner family, several members of whom live on site.
They reckon that, at 1,100ft above sea level, this ranks as the highest residential park in the country! England’s highest pub, the Cat and Fiddle, is just four miles away.
Buses stop at the entrance six days a week and will take you half a mile down the hill into Buxton, a bustling tourist town offering all the usual services and amenities. Those include a theatre as well as a cosmopolitan collection of shops and restaurants.
There is a golf course within half a mile, footpaths galore for exploring the Peak District National Park and no shortage of river and lake fishing… Not to mention the scenic delights of the Goyt Valley and Dovedale!
